It’s “AI” in the same way that the Cleverbot of the late 2000s was “AI”. You know, that site that would save how users responded to its questions and regurgitate responses to other users, which is why it insisted it was human with so much indignation. AI is just the name we tend to give to the latest cool thing.

LLMs are just playing Guess The Next Word constantly. They can’t perform logic, or like… count things or do basic maths.

I get that branding is what it is and common parlance is what it is, but I truly wish things like LLMs and chatbots weren’t referred to as “AI.”

It’s like…calling a cheeselog a dildo. Yeah, they’re both vaguely similar in shape but confusing form for function is a terrible idea.
